The adult Sunday School class meets on Sundays at 9am - 10am.
On Sunday, April 8th, the Adult Sunday School Class will begin a new study with the understanding that we all will experience fear at some time in our journey, but we don't have to be oppressed, defeated, or controlled by it. We will explore how we can face our fears with faith, examine our assumptions in light of facts, attack our anxieties with action, and release our cares to God. We will be utilizing the book "Unafraid - Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times" by Adam Hamilton as our guide. All are welcome to join us at 9:00 am each Sunday in room 14B. Books will be provided. Questions? Contact Diane and Bruce Witherspoon.
The Women's Bible Study group meets on Mondays at 9:30am - 11:00am.
The women will start a new 5-week study from March 19 through April 16, using the study guide The Shadow of a Doubt by Talbot Davis. Here is a description of this book:
"I don't believe it." In this study, you'll learn that it's okay to have doubts about your faith. Everybody does at one point or the other. Author Talbot Davis suggests that the way to handle your doubts is to acknowledge and confront them. Using biblical stories as illustrations about doubt, he shows you how to bring your doubts out of the shadows and into the light so that you have the opportunity to experience a more authentic faith.
After this short study, the group will immediately start an 8-week study, from April 23 to June 11, using the book Christianity's Family Tree by Adam Hamilton. Here's a description of this book:
Adam Hamilton presents a welcoming, inspiring vision of eight Christian denominations and faith traditions. Comparing the Christian family to our own extended families, he contends that each denomination has a unique, valuable perspective to offer on the Christian faith. The traditions he examines are Orthodoxy, Catholicism, Lutheranism, Presbyterianism, Anglicanism, Baptists, Pentecostalism, and Methodism. For each group, Hamilton gives a brief history, outlines major beliefs, and describes some things we can learn from that tradition to strengthen our own Christian faith.
Please join us for one or both of these studies. For more information contact Karen.Pherson.
The men meet every Tuesday morning from 6:30 am to 7:30 am in room 14B. They enjoy great company and move through different Bible based books while munching on goodies and drinking coffee. The group is led by Bjorn Braun.
The men are currently studying the minor prophets using the book Immersion Bible Studies: Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi by Linda B. Hinton.
