Worship Ministries: Have you been wondering where you can support our worship services but not sure what you can do to help? Our Worship Ministries are a great place to start and one of the easiest ways to contribute. We are always in need of lay readers, Communion servers, ushers, greeters, tech booth support, music ministry opportunities, sign language choir, and connectors. To sign-up or get more details please contact the following Worship Ministries coordinators or the church office at email@example.com:
Lawn Maintenance Help!
We have one volunteer to help with maintenance of the church grounds starting next April, but are looking for another to help. It involves mowing, edging and trimming each week (approximately 2-1/2 hours for two people) and fertilizing three times per year. This is a HUGE financial savings to the church. Please contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can serve in this way.
"Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly - not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God." 1 Peter 5:2
The Wilson United Methodist Church Caring Ministry exists to support members in times of need, offer encouragement and a sense of connection, and to provide a place for servants to use their gifts. Below are the sub-committees involved. If you would like a way to recognize the love and support we have at Wilson and to show others in your faith community that you care about them, then this ministry is for you!
Prayer Team: These individuals have committed themselves to pray about any prayer requests that come into our church.
Meal Team: This ministry group provides meals when needs arise such as a death in the family, a new baby, or a surgery/hospitalization.
Driving Team: This team is in place to provide occasional rides to doctors' appointments, the grocery store, etc., to individuals that may need temporary assistance.
Visiting Team: This group has committed to visit church members that may be house bound, hospitalized, in assisted living or nursing homes.
Card Team: This active group sends cards to Wilson members for birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, condolences, deployed military, and care packages to college students.
Follow-up Team: This team reviews attendance reports and word-of-mouth information bi-monthly and attempts to contact by phone or note those folks whose attendance has dropped off and whose presence has been missed. One of the goals is to encourage individuals to return to fellowship within the Wilson Family.
Memorial Service Team: When there is a need to put together a reception following a memorial service, this team jumps into action to set up, provide food, serve and clean up.
"God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another." 1 Peter 4:10
