Rev. David Hiester
David has been the Senior Pastor of Wilson UMC since 2012 – arriving in town just one day before the Waldo Canyon fire started. David is married to Tracy and together they have four grown children: Kristen, Katie, Daniel, and Andrew. Pastor Dave has served in full-time ministry since 2002 and holds a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary (Wilmore, KY). Prior to full-time ministry David spent 10 years managing restaurants for Bennigan’s, Chili’s, and Boston Market. It was during this time in his life that God moved powerfully to reveal Himself to David, invite him into a relationship, and call him into ministry. David is orthodox in his beliefs, biblically grounded, and passionately committed to seeing people grow in their relationship with God, in Christ, through intentionally shaped community. You will enjoy David’s approachable and authentic preaching style as he seeks to bring the Bible alive while presenting practical ideas for application to one’s life. Along with his pastoral duties, David is also an avid fly fisherman who can be found on any number of rivers on his day off, while also giving time to Project Healing Waters. Make sure to introduce yourself after the service, he’d love to talk with you.
